  • 1/2 cup caramelized onions
  • salt To taste
  • pepper To taste
  • garlic powder To taste
  • onion powder To taste
  • Bacon (optional) Can use pre-cooked bacon.
  • Burger buns Toast before assembling.

Method
 

Cooking
  1. In a skillet, cook bacon until crispy if using. Set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add the ground beef and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. Smash the beef down with a spatula to form a crust and cook until browned.
  4. Flip the burger and add caramelized onions on top.
  5. Cook for a few more minutes until the burger reaches desired doneness.
  6. Toast the burger buns and assemble the burger with bacon and toppings of your choice.

Notes

For extra flavor, try adding a splash of maple syrup before serving. You can customize by using different cheeses or substituting turkey or chicken for the beef. For a vegetarian version, use a plant-based burger.
