- In a skillet, cook bacon until crispy if using. Set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the ground beef and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Smash the beef down with a spatula to form a crust and cook until browned.
- Flip the burger and add caramelized onions on top.
- Cook for a few more minutes until the burger reaches desired doneness.
- Toast the burger buns and assemble the burger with bacon and toppings of your choice.
Notes
For extra flavor, try adding a splash of maple syrup before serving. You can customize by using different cheeses or substituting turkey or chicken for the beef. For a vegetarian version, use a plant-based burger.
