  • 8-12 slices slices of soft white bread (crusts removed) Use thicker slices for heartier roll-ups
  • 4 tbsp softened butter For spreading on bread and cooking
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar Adjust based on taste preference
  • 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon Can be adjusted for more or less flavor
  • 2 large eggs For dipping the roll-ups
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Maple syrup For serving

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Flatten each slice of bread with a rolling pin.
  2. Spread softened butter on one side of each slice.
  3. In a bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle this mixture evenly over the buttered side of the bread.
  4. Roll up each slice tightly, starting from the side without the crust.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, and vanilla.
Cooking
  1. Dip each roll in the egg mixture, ensuring they are well-coated.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a little butter.
  3. Cook each roll for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
Serving
  1. Serve warm on a plate drizzled with maple syrup.

Notes

If you have leftovers, let them cool completely and store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. To reheat, pop them in the microwave for a few seconds until warm. You can also add fresh fruit or whipped cream for extra delight.
