Preparation
- In a large saucepan over low heat, melt the butter.
- Add the mini marshmallows to the melted butter and stir until completely melted.
- Remove from heat and mix in the Rice Krispies cereal until evenly coated.
- Press the mixture into a greased 9x13 inch pan and allow to cool.
- For a watermelon effect, use food coloring to dye some of the mixture green for the outer layer and leave the inside white or mix with red coloring for a watermelon look.
Serving
- Once cool and set, cut them into squares or triangles.
- Serve them on a platter or stack them in a fun way to enhance their watermelon appearance.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. In humid areas, check them daily as they can become sticky. For best texture, mix marshmallows and butter thoroughly and press the mixture firmly into the pan.
