Ingredients
  

Pasta and Seafood
  • 8 oz pasta (rotini or penne)
  • 1 cup cooked shrimp, peeled and deveined Use fresh seafood for the best flavor.
  • 1 cup crab meat Fresh or canned crab meat works well.
Vegetables
  • 1/2 cup chopped celery Add more vegetables for extra crunch.
  • 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1/4 cup diced red onion
Dressing
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise For a lighter version, use Greek yogurt.
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh dill
  • Lemon wedges for serving Allow guests to add a fresh citrus kick.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Cook the pasta according to package directions. Drain and rinse under cold water to cool it down.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the cooled pasta, shrimp, crab, celery, cherry tomatoes, and red onion.
Making the Dressing
  1. In a separate bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper.
Combining
  1. Pour the dressing over the pasta mixture and toss gently to coat all the ingredients.
  2. Stir in the fresh dill for added flavor.
Chill and Serve
  1. Refrigerate the salad until chilled and the flavors blend, usually about an hour.
  2. Serve the salad cold with lemon wedges on the side.

Notes

To store the salad, keep it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Stir before serving, as ingredients may settle. Avoid freezing, as the texture may not hold up.
