Method
Dough Preparation
- In a bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, yeast, and 1 tablespoon flour. Let it rest for 10 minutes until foamy.
- Add remaining flour gradually and start kneading.
- Add salt and oil. Knead well until a smooth and elastic dough forms.
- Cover and let it rise until it triples in size.
Shaping and Rising
- Divide the dough into 4 equal pieces.
- Flatten each piece and place a generous amount of cheese in the center.
- Seal tightly and turn seam side down.
- Gently press into a 15–18 cm round shape.
- Make light grid marks on top with your fingers.
- Let it rise again for 20–30 minutes.
Baking
- Mix egg yolk with 1 tablespoon oil and brush it on top.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds generously.
- Bake at 200°C (fan) on the middle rack for 18–22 minutes until deep golden.
Notes
Baked Cheese Pie is best served warm. You can enjoy it on its own or with a side of yogurt or salad for a more filling meal.
