Ingredients
  

Dough Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Standard flour for the dough
  • 1 tbsp sugar Adds sweetness to the dough
  • 1 tsp baking powder For leavening the dough
  • 1/2 tsp salt Enhances flavor
  • 2 eggs Provides structure and moisture
  • 1/2 cup milk Liquid to bind ingredients
Frying and Serving
  • Vegetable oil for frying Use sufficient oil for deep frying
  • Cinnamon sugar for dusting To sprinkle on warm buñuelos

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, beat the eggs and mix in the milk.
  3. Combine the wet and dry ingredients until a soft dough forms.
  4. Roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut into circles.
Frying
  1. Heat the oil in a pan to around 350°F (175°C).
  2. Deep fry the dough circles until golden brown.
  3. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
Serving
  1. Dust warm buñuelos with cinnamon sugar before serving.

Notes

Make sure the oil is not overcrowded while frying. Optionally, you can add vanilla extract or orange zest for extra flavor. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to two days. Reheat in a toaster oven to regain crispiness.
