Ingredients

For the Filling
  • 1 lb ground beef for a rich, savory filling
  • 1 oz taco seasoning packet adds bold flavor
  • 1/4 cup water helps coat the beef evenly
  • 2 cups shredded Mexican cheese blend for a melty, creamy texture
  • 1/4 cup salsa adds moisture and a tangy kick
For the Dough
  • 1 lb pizza dough soft and stretchy for easy shaping
For the Crust
  • 1 large egg for brushing the crust

Method

Cooking the Beef
  1. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until fully browned. Drain any excess fat.
Seasoning the Filling
  1. Add the taco seasoning and water to the beef. Stir well and let it simmer until the mixture thickens and becomes fully coated.
Preparing the Dough
  1. Roll or stretch the pizza dough into a large rectangle on a sheet of parchment paper.
Adding the Filling
  1. Spoon the seasoned beef down the center of the dough. Top with shredded cheese and salsa.
Folding and Sealing
  1. Fold the long sides of the dough over the filling and pinch the ends tightly to seal everything inside.
Brushing and Baking
  1. Brush the outside with a beaten egg and bake until the crust is golden brown and crispy.

Notes

Make sure to drain excess liquid from the salsa before adding it to avoid a soggy crust. Sealing the dough well also helps keep all the filling inside while baking.
