  • 1 lb Ground beef Use lean ground beef for a healthier option.
  • 1 pkg Pizza dough Pre-made dough can be found in the refrigerated section.
  • 1 pack Taco seasoning Store-bought taco seasoning works fine.
  • 1 cup Cheddar cheese, shredded Feel free to use your favorite cheese.
  • 1 cup Monterey Jack cheese, shredded Feel free to substitute with other cheeses.
  • 1 cup Salsa Use your preferred salsa for varying flavors.
For Serving
  • 1 cup Sour cream For dipping.
Toppings
  • 2 tbsp Butter, melted To brush on top for flavor.
  • optional Sesame seeds or crushed tortilla chips For added crunch on top.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Cook the ground beef in a pan over medium heat. Add the taco seasoning and let it cook until the beef is browned and fully cooked.
  2. While the beef is cooking, cut the pizza dough into squares.
Assembly
  1. Take each square and add a small amount of taco beef, a sprinkle of cheddar cheese, a sprinkle of Monterey Jack cheese, and a small spoonful of salsa in the center.
  2. Fold each square closed and pinch the edges to seal it well.
  3. Brush the tops with melted butter and sprinkle sesame seeds or crushed tortilla chips on top if desired.
Cooking
  1. Place the prepared pockets on a baking sheet and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15-18 minutes, until golden brown and cheese is melted.

Notes

Use pre-made pizza dough for a faster option. Feel free to add your favorite taco toppings inside the pockets like black beans, corn, or jalapeños for extra flavor.
