Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the ground beef. Cook until fully browned, breaking it apart with a spatula.
- Drain excess fat from the pan.
- Return the beef to medium heat and add the taco seasoning and water. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the beef.
- Microwave the refried beans for about 60 seconds to warm them for easier spreading.
Assembly
- Spread a layer of crushed tortilla chips at the bottom of the greased baking dish.
- Spread the warmed refried beans over the chips.
- Add the seasoned ground beef on top, followed by the chunky salsa.
- Top with another layer of crushed tortilla chips.
- Sprinkle the shredded Mexican blend cheese generously over the top.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
