Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a small bowl, stir together the flour, baking soda, and baking powder.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and white sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract until well combined.
- Gradually blend in the dry ingredients from the small bowl.
- Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls and place them onto ungreased cookie sheets.
- Flatten each ball with the bottom of a glass. You can sprinkle them with sugar if desired.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes or until they are golden.
- Let the cookies cool on wire racks.
Notes
Serve fresh and warm from the oven, plain or with frosting and sprinkles. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for about a week, or freeze for up to three months. Experiment with different extracts for unique flavors.
