Ingredients
  

Wonton Filling
  • 2 pieces roasted poblano peppers, peeled and chopped
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack or Oaxaca cheese
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon fresh cilantro, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
Dipping Sauce
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1-2 pieces jalapeños, chopped Adjust to taste for spiciness.
Wonton Wrappers
  • 24 pieces wonton wrappers

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, mix the roasted poblano peppers, Monterey Jack cheese, cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, cilantro, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  2. Place a spoonful of the mixture onto the center of each wonton wrapper.
  3. Wet the edges of the wonton wrapper with water and fold the corners to seal.
Cooking
  1. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  2. Fry the wontons until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.
Dipping Sauce Preparation
  1. For the dipping sauce, combine soy sauce and chopped jalapeños in a small bowl.
Serving
  1. Serve the crispy wontons hot with the jalapeño soy sauce.

Notes

These wontons are best served hot and fresh. Arrange them on a platter and place the jalapeño soy sauce in a small bowl for dipping. You can also garnish with extra cilantro for a nice touch. Enjoy them as a snack, appetizer, or party finger food!
