Ingredients
  

For the Cream Mixture
  • 200 g Schmand (sour cream) Can substitute with sour cream if Schmand is unavailable.
  • 200 g whipped cream Keep it light and airy when folding into the mixture.
  • 100 g sugar
  • 1 pack vanilla sugar
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
For the Base
  • 1 pack sponge cake or cake base Can substitute with a graham cracker crust if desired.
For the Topping
  • 250 g strawberries Wash and slice before using.
  • optional fresh mint For garnish.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Wash and slice the strawberries.
  2. In a bowl, mix the Schmand, sugar, vanilla sugar, and lemon juice until smooth.
  3. Fold in the whipped cream gently until combined.
  4. Place the sponge cake or cake base on a serving platter.
Assembly
  1. Spread the Schmand mixture evenly over the cake.
  2. Layer the sliced strawberries on top of the mixture.
Chill
  1. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
Serving
  1. Serve chilled, cut into squares or rectangles on individual plates.
  2. Garnish with fresh mint if desired.

Notes

Store the slices in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Best enjoyed fresh for optimal flavor and texture.
