- In a bowl, combine the sliced strawberries, granulated sugar, and lemon juice. Toss to coat and let sit for about 30 minutes to macerate.
- Whip the heavy cream with the powdered sugar and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
Assembly
- In a serving dish, layer the pound cake, followed by a layer of the macerated strawberries and a layer of whipped cream.
- Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with whipped cream on top.
- Serve chilled, garnished with additional strawberries if desired.
Notes
Chill the dessert for at least an hour before serving to allow the flavors to meld. For a beautiful presentation, add a few extra strawberries on top, and optionally drizzle some strawberry syrup or sprinkle powdered sugar for extra sweetness.
