Strawberry Mixture
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced Use fresh, ripe strawberries for best flavor.
  • 1/4 cup sugar To sweeten the strawberries.
Whipped Cream
  • 2 cups heavy cream Don’t overbeat; stop when soft peaks form.
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar For sweetness in the whipped cream.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Enhances flavor.
Shortcakes
  • 4 pieces store-bought shortcakes or biscuits Can substitute with chocolate cake for variations.

Preparation
  1. In a medium bowl, mix the sliced strawberries with the sugar. Let them sit for about 30 minutes to release their juices.
  2. While the strawberries are resting, prepare the whipped cream. In a separate bowl, beat the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract together until soft peaks form.
Assembly
  1. Once the strawberries are ready, take your shortcakes and cut them in half.
  2. Place the bottom half of each shortcake on a plate. Spoon some strawberries over them, followed by a generous dollop of whipped cream.
  3. Top with the other half of the shortcake and add more strawberries and cream if desired.

Notes

Serve immediately for fresh and crispy texture. Store components separately if leftovers exist.
