Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, combine the pretzel crumbs, melted butter, and sugar. Press the mixture into the bottom of a greased 9x13 inch pan.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes, then let cool.
Filling
- In another bowl, beat together the cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
- Fold in the whipped topping and spread over the cooled pretzel crust.
Topping
- In a saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Stir in the strawberry jello until dissolved.
- Remove from heat and add the sliced strawberries.
- Pour the jello mixture over the cream cheese layer.
Chilling
- Refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving.
Notes
This dessert is best served chilled. To serve, cut into squares and garnish with a fresh strawberry or whipped cream. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 2-3 days, but note that the crust may soften over time.
