Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 banana ripe but still firm banana Slice on a slight diagonal for longer pieces.
  • 1-2 tablespoons creamy peanut butter Natural peanut butter works but is harder to spread when cold.
  • 1 tablespoon strawberry jam Use a good quality jam with real fruit for best flavor.
  • 4-5 slices fresh strawberries, thinly sliced Choose deeply red strawberries for visual appeal.
  • 1 tortilla/crepe/flatbread wrap base Flour tortilla is most accessible; a thin crepe offers elegance.

Method

Preparation
  1. Wash and slice the strawberries thinly, aiming for uniform thickness.
  2. Peel and slice the banana on a slight diagonal.
  3. Have your peanut butter, jam, and wrap base ready beside each other.
Assembly
  1. Lay the tortilla, crepe, or flatbread flat on a clean work surface.
  2. Spread the peanut butter in an even layer across the entire surface.
  3. Spread the strawberry jam over the peanut butter in an equally even layer.
  4. Arrange the sliced strawberries and banana slices in a single, even layer across one end of the wrap.
  5. Starting from the fruit end, roll the wrap as tightly as possible.
  6. Press the seam side down on the cutting board to hold it closed for 30 seconds before slicing.
  7. Using a sharp knife, slice the roll into rounds approximately 1 to 1.5 inches thick.

Notes

These roll-ups can be made in advance and stored in the refrigerator. They are suitable for lunchboxes; just ensure to use nut-free alternatives if necessary.
