  • 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough
Creamy Filling
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened Make sure it is softened to avoid lumps.
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Strawberry Topping
  • 1 cup diced strawberries Use fresh strawberries for the best flavor.
Egg Wash
  • 1 whole egg, beaten

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375 F and line a small baking dish or sheet pan with parchment paper.
  2. Press the crescent dough into the bottom of the dish, sealing the seams so it forms a smooth base.
  3. In a bowl, blend the cottage cheese, cream cheese, honey, vanilla, lemon zest, and lemon juice until smooth and creamy.
  4. Spread this creamy filling over the dough.
  5. Scatter the diced strawberries evenly across the top.
  6. Fold or pinch a little of the dough edge inward around the filling for a rustic look.
  7. Brush the exposed dough with beaten egg.
Baking
  1. Bake for 18 to 22 minutes until the crust is golden and lightly puffed.
  2. Cool slightly before slicing.
