Jam Ingredients
  • 2 cups strawberries, hulled and chopped Use fresh strawberries for best flavor.
  • 1 cup honey Agave syrup can be used for a vegan option.
  • 1-2 units jalapeños, finely chopped Adjust to heat preference; remove seeds for less heat.
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup pectin (if desired for thickening) Use according to package instructions.
  • 1 pinch salt

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the strawberries, honey, jalapeños, lemon juice, and salt.
  2. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the mixture comes to a boil.
  3. Let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. If you desire a thicker consistency, add pectin according to package instructions.
  5. Remove from heat and let the jam cool slightly.
  6. Pour the jam into sterilized jars and refrigerate.

Notes

Store in sterilized jars in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. For longer storage, can the jam properly.
