Preparation
- Bring 1 cup of water to a boil in a medium-size pot.
- Remove the pot from heat, add the hibiscus flowers and honey. Cover and let steep for 10 minutes.
- Strain the mixture into a pitcher and discard the hibiscus flowers.
- Run a lime wedge around the rim of your glass and coat it in salt.
Mixing
- In a cocktail shaker or glass jar, add the strawberries, lime juice, 1/4 cup of steeped tea, and orange zest. Muddle all the ingredients together to release the juices.
- Add the tequila, fill with ice, and shake until combined.
- Strain into your prepared glass, top off with ginger beer, and serve with a slice of lime.
Notes
Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less honey according to your taste. Experiment with different fruits; other berries or citrus fruits can also work well. For a non-alcoholic version, omit the tequila and use more ginger beer or a soda of your choice.
