Ingredients
  

For the dumplings
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the strawberries with sugar, cornstarch, and vanilla extract.
  3. Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles.
  4. Place a spoonful of the strawberry mixture at the wide end of each triangle.
  5. Roll the dough around the strawberries, tucking in the sides as you go.
  6. Place the dumplings on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Brush the tops with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon if desired.
Cooking
  1. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

Serve Strawberry Dumplings warm, preferably right out of the oven. They can be enjoyed as is or topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, or a drizzle of chocolate sauce for extra indulgence. A sprinkle of powdered sugar on top can also add a beautiful finish. If you have any leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Reheat them before serving.
