Ingredients

Pudding Base
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 1 package (3.4 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Fruit Layers
  • 3–4 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
Cookie Topping
  • 1 box vanilla wafers or shortbread cookies
  • 1 cup crushed golden cookies (like vanilla Oreos)
  • 1/2 cup crushed freeze-dried strawberries
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the cold milk and instant vanilla pudding mix until thickened.
  2. Add the sweetened condensed milk, heavy whipping cream, and vanilla extract. Mix well until smooth.
Layering
  1. In a separate dish, layer half of the vanilla wafers or cookies, followed by half of the sliced bananas and half of the sliced strawberries.
  2. Pour half of the pudding mixture over the layers.
  3. Repeat the layering process with the remaining ingredients.
Topping
  1. For the topping, combine the crushed golden cookies and freeze-dried strawberries with the melted butter, then sprinkle over the top of the pudding.
Chilling
  1. Chill for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

Serve the pudding chilled. For garnish, consider adding additional sliced strawberries or whipped cream. To store, cover with plastic wrap or in an airtight container for 3-4 days, but add the cookie topping just before serving for optimal crunch.
