  • 2 cans strawberry pie filling (21 oz each)
  • 1 block cream cheese (8 oz), softened Make sure it is softened for smooth mixing.
  • 1/2 cup butter (1 stick), melted For richer flavor, consider adding a pinch of salt.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional) Adds extra flavor to the cream cheese.
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large baking dish, spread the strawberry pie filling evenly across the bottom.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and vanilla extract until smooth, then dollop it over the strawberry filling.
  4. Sprinkle the yellow cake mix evenly on top of the cream cheese layer, ensuring it covers the entire surface.
  5. Drizzle the melted butter over the cake mix, making sure to cover as much as possible.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and cooked through.
  2. Allow to cool slightly before serving. Optionally, dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about 3-5 days. If you want to keep it longer, you can freeze it, but it’s best enjoyed fresh. Consider serving with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, and add fresh strawberries for an elegant touch.
