Ingredients
  

For the crust and layers
  • 2 cups crushed vanilla wafers
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar (optional) Adjust based on sweetness of fruits
For the filling
  • 2 cups ripe bananas, sliced Use ripe but firm bananas
  • 2 cups strawberries, sliced Garnish with extra slices for presentation
  • 4 cups vanilla pudding or whipped cream Can use low-fat alternatives for a lighter version

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, mix crushed vanilla wafers, melted butter, and granulated sugar until well combined.
  2. In a serving dish or individual cups, layer half of the wafer mixture, followed by layers of sliced bananas and strawberries.
  3. Add a layer of vanilla pudding or whipped cream.
  4. Repeat layers with remaining ingredients.
  5. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. For best flavor and texture, enjoy within the first couple of days after making. Can be prepared a day in advance.
