Ingredients
  

For the Cake
  • 1 prepared cake prepared cake (sponge or vanilla) Use a light sponge or vanilla cake.
For the Filling
  • 2 cups strawberries, sliced Fresh strawberries preferred.
  • 1/2 cup woodruff syrup Can replace with light honey syrup or fruity jam.
For the Whipped Cream
  • 1 cup heavy cream Whip until soft peaks form.
  • 1/4 cup sugar Adjust sweetening to taste.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract For flavoring the whipped cream.
For Garnish
  • Fresh mint leaves Fresh mint leaves for garnish Use for decoration.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Prepare the cake and let it cool completely.
Whipping Cream
  1. In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream with sugar and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
Layering the Cake
  1. Layer the cooled cake with sliced strawberries and drizzle woodruff syrup between layers.
  2. Spread the whipped cream on top of the cake and decorate with more strawberries and mint leaves.
Chilling
  1. Chill the cake before serving.

Notes

Serve chilled for best flavor. You can slice into wedges and garnish each slice with additional strawberries and a sprig of mint. Store leftover cake in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days or freeze for up to a month.
