Ingredients

For the Sweet Ginger Sauce
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
For the Stir Fry
  • 1 lb flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain For tenderness
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil For frying
  • 1 medium red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1/2 cup snap peas
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, mix the soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and cornstarch to create the Sweet Ginger Sauce.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
Cooking
  1. Add the thinly sliced beef to the skillet and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until browned.
  2. Add the garlic and ginger, cooking for an additional minute until fragrant.
  3. Incorporate the sliced red bell pepper, broccoli florets, and snap peas, stir-frying until the vegetables are tender-crisp, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Pour the Sweet Ginger Sauce over the beef and vegetables, stirring to coat everything evenly. Cook for another 2 minutes until the sauce thickens.
Serving
  1. Remove from heat and serve hot over rice or noodles.

Notes

Slice the beef against the grain for tenderness. Do not overcrowd the pan while cooking the beef; it should brown nicely. Feel free to switch up the vegetables. Carrots, zucchini, or asparagus also work great! If you like it spicy, add some red pepper flakes or a splash of chili sauce to the Sweet Ginger Sauce.
