Steak & Cajun Shrimp with Creamy Potatoes

Ingredients
  

For the creamy potatoes
  • 3 cups potatoes, peeled & cubed
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 cup milk or heavy cream Use heavy cream for a creamier texture.
  • 1/2 tsp salt Adjust based on preference.
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley
For the steak and shrimp
  • 2 pieces ribeye or sirloin steaks
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled & deveined Make sure thawed if frozen.
  • 2 tbsp olive oil For searing the steaks.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Cajun seasoning Adjust to taste.
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 pieces green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1/2 small onion, sliced
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley For garnish.
  • to taste red pepper flakes Optional for extra kick.

Method
 

Make the Creamy Potatoes
  1. Boil cubed potatoes in salted water for 15 minutes until fork-tender.
  2. Mash them with butter, milk, salt, and parsley until smooth and fluffy.
Season & Sear the Steak
  1. Pat the steaks dry and season with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet and sear the steaks for 3–4 minutes on each side.
  3. Once done, let them rest.
Cook the Cajun Shrimp
  1. In the same pan, melt butter and sauté garlic.
  2. Then, add the shrimp and Cajun seasoning; cook for 2–3 minutes until they turn pink.
Sauté the Veggies
  1. Toss in sliced bell peppers and onions into the skillet with butter.
  2. Cook until they are tender but still slightly crisp.
Assemble the Plate
  1. Serve the steak beside the creamy potatoes, and top with Cajun shrimp and sautéed peppers.
  2. Drizzle pan juices over everything for extra flavor.

Notes

Let the steaks rest after cooking to keep them juicy. Adjust Cajun seasoning to taste. For creamier potatoes, use heavy cream.
