- In a small bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder, thyme, parsley, paprika, and onion powder to create the spice mixture.
- Generously sprinkle this spice mixture on both sides of the chicken breasts.
Cooking
- In a large heavy skillet, heat the butter and olive oil over medium heat.
- Sauté the chicken until it is golden brown, about 6 minutes on each side.
- After both sides are browned, sprinkle the remaining 2 teaspoons of garlic powder and add lime juice to the pan.
- Cook for 5 more minutes, stirring frequently to coat the chicken evenly with the cooking juices.
Notes
To store leftover chicken, let it cool down to room temperature and place it in an airtight container. It can be kept in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. For longer storage, freeze it for up to 2 months. Thaw in the refrigerator before reheating.
