- Divide the ground beef into four equal portions and form loosely packed balls.

- Place the beef balls in the air fryer basket and press down with a spatula to smash them flat.

- Cook for about 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until cooked to your desired doneness.
- Meanwhile, butter the burger buns and toast them in a pan or air fryer.
Assembly
- Assemble the burgers by placing the patties on the toasted buns and adding pickles, cheese, and any other desired toppings.

Notes
Smash burgers are best served hot immediately after cooking. Leftover burgers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the air fryer or on a pan.
