  • 2 lbs beef stew meat (cut into cubes) Use stew meat with some fat for better flavor.
  • 1/2 cup butter Place butter cubes evenly across the top of the beef.
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Place the beef stew meat directly into the slow cooker.
  2. In a bowl, combine beef broth, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, onion powder, and black pepper. Stir well.
  3. Pour the mixture evenly over the beef in the slow cooker.
  4. Place butter cubes evenly across the top of the beef.
Cooking
  1. Cover and cook on low for 6–8 hours or high for 3–4 hours until the beef becomes tender.
  2. Stir everything together so the beef is fully coated in the rich sauce.
Serving
  1. Serve hot over mashed potatoes, rice, or with crusty bread.

Notes

Do not rush the cooking time. Stir at the end to blend flavors. Serve with something that absorbs the sauce.
