  • 1 lb lean ground beef Choose lean to reduce fat.
  • 4 cups green cabbage, thinly sliced About 1 small head of cabbage.
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch fresh ginger, grated For best flavor, use fresh ginger.
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce Can use low-sodium if preferred.
  • 1/4 cup coconut milk Substitute with heavy cream if desired.
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil For cooking.
  • to taste Salt and pepper Adjust according to preference.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large skillet, heat sesame oil over medium heat. Add the onion and sauté until soft.
  2. Add the garlic and ginger, cooking until fragrant.
  3. Add the ground beef, cooking until browned and cooked through.
  4. Stir in the sliced cabbage, soy sauce, and coconut milk.
  5. Cook, stirring frequently, until the cabbage is tender.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve warm.

Notes

For extra flavor, you can add a splash of rice vinegar or lime juice before serving. If you like a bit of heat, try adding red pepper flakes or sriracha. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days. Reheat in a skillet or microwave until warm.
