Ingredients
  

Dough Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup water
For Frying and Coating
  • Oil for frying Use vegetable or canola oil.
  • Cinnamon-sugar mixture for coating Mix sugar and cinnamon to taste.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  2. Gradually add water to form a dough.
  3. Roll the dough into small balls and flatten them slightly.
Frying
  1. Heat oil in a deep pan.
  2. Fry each dough ball until golden brown.
  3. Remove from oil and coat in the cinnamon-sugar mixture while still warm.
Serving
  1. Serve warm, optionally sprinkling more cinnamon-sugar on top.

Notes

Make sure your oil is hot enough before frying to ensure crispy buñuelos. Don't overcrowd the pan; work in small batches. For extra flavor, consider adding a splash of vanilla to the dough.
