  • 1 whole egg Acts as a binder for the patties.
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce Adds flavor to the meat mixture.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder Feel free to adjust according to taste.

For the gravy
  • 1 large onion Sliced, for the onion gravy.
  • 2 cups beef broth Use low-sodium for a healthier option.
  • 2 tablespoons oil For cooking the patties and onions.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well and form into patties.
  2. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook the patties until browned on both sides. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add sliced onions and cook until softened.
Cooking
  1. Add beef broth to the skillet, stirring to deglaze the pan.
  2. Return the patties to the skillet, cover, and simmer until cooked through and gravy has thickened.
  3. Serve with the onion gravy over the patties.

Notes

Salisbury Steak pairs well with mashed potatoes, rice, or steamed vegetables. To store leftovers, refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
