Ingredients
  

For the patties
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) Campbell's condensed French onion soup (divided)
  • 1.5 lbs ground beef
  • 0.5 cup dry breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 0.125 tsp black pepper
For the gravy
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 cup ketchup
  • 1-3 tsp Worcestershire sauce Adjust based on flavor preference.
  • 0.5 tsp mustard powder
  • 0.25 cup water

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, mix 1/3 cup of the French onion soup with the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Shape this mixture into six oval patties.
Cooking
  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat and brown the patties on both sides.
  2. Once browned, drain any grease from the pan.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, remaining French onion soup, ketchup, water, Worcestershire sauce, and mustard powder.
  4. Pour this gravy over the browned patties in the skillet. Cover and let it simmer for 20 minutes.

Notes

Serve hot with mashed potatoes or rice, and add a side of green vegetables like steamed broccoli or peas for a complete meal. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or can be frozen for 2-3 months.
