  • 250 g flour
  • 100 g sugar
  • 125 g butter softened
  • 2 pieces eggs
  • 500 g plums halved
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • to taste Cinnamon sugar for sprinkling on top

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  2. Add the eggs and mix well.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the flour and baking powder.
  4. Gradually combine it with the butter mixture.
  5. Spread the batter evenly on a lined baking tray.
  6. Arrange the halved plums on top of the batter and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
Baking
  1. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 35–40 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

Best served warm or at room temperature. Pairs well with vanilla ice cream or a cup of tea or coffee. Ensure to use ripe, juicy plums for the best flavor. Consider adding a dash of vanilla extract for added aroma. Don't overmix the batter to keep the cake light and fluffy.
