Ingredients
  

For the taco filling
  • 1 pound lean (at least 80%) ground beef Cooked until browned and drained.
  • 3/4 cup Old El Paso Thick 'n Chunky salsa
  • 2 tablespoons Old El Paso taco seasoning mix
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese For topping.
For the crust
  • 1 8 ounce can Pillsbury refrigerated crescent dinner rolls Unrolled and pressed into the baking dish.
For serving
  • as desired Shredded lettuce Optional topping.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Stir in the salsa and taco seasoning. Mix well and simmer for a few minutes.
  4. Unroll the crescent roll dough and place it in a baking dish, pressing the seams together to form a crust.
  5. Spoon the beef mixture over the crust.
  6. Sprinkle shredded Cheddar cheese on top.
Baking
  1. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the dough is golden brown.
  2. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

You can garnish the taco bake with extra toppings like sour cream, diced tomatoes, avocado, or jalapeños for added flavor. It goes well with a side of tortilla chips or a simple green salad. Make sure to drain the ground beef well to avoid a soggy crust. Feel free to customize the taco filling with beans, corn, or other vegetables.
