Ingredients

  • 1 pound Brussels sprouts Choose firm and fresh for best results.
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 cup White vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Sugar Adjust to taste for sweetness.
  • 2 cloves Garlic Smashed.
  • 1 teaspoon Red pepper flakes Adjust for desired spiciness.
  • 1 teaspoon Black peppercorns

Preparation
  1. Clean and trim Brussels sprouts, cutting them in half.
Cooking
  1. In a pot, combine water, vinegar, salt, and sugar, and bring to a boil.
  2. Add the Brussels sprouts, garlic, red pepper flakes, and black peppercorns, and simmer for 5-7 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
Packing
  1. Pack the Brussels sprouts into a jar, pour the pickling liquid over them, and seal the jar.
Cooling
  1. Refrigerate for at least 24 hours before serving.

Notes

Store the pickled Brussels sprouts in the refrigerator. They will stay fresh for up to a month. Make sure the jar is tightly sealed to maintain their crispness and flavor. You can also mix in other vegetables like carrots or cauliflower for a colorful mix.
