  • 1 lb ground beef Can substitute with ground turkey for a lighter option.
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 medium potatoes, peeled and diced small
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
Spices
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
For Serving
  • 4 flour tortillas Warm them before serving for the best texture.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add chopped onion, garlic, and bell pepper; sauté until softened.
  3. Add ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned.
Cooking
  1. Stir in diced potatoes, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. Pour in a little water if needed, cover, and let simmer until potatoes are tender.
  3. Warm flour tortillas in a separate pan.
  4. Serve picadillo with warm tortillas.

Notes

Consider incorporating other vegetables like carrots or corn for added flavor. Adjust spices to taste, adding cayenne or jalapeños for heat. Warming the tortillas ensures they are soft.
