Preparation
- Preheat the oven according to the cake mix instructions and bake the cake mix in a prepared pan.
- Let the cake cool completely.
- Once cooled, poke holes all over the top of the cake using a fork.
Jello Mixture
- In a bowl, mix the orange Jello with 2 cups of cold orange soda until dissolved.
- Pour the orange soda and Jello mixture over the cooled cake, ensuring it fills the holes.
Chill and Serve
- Refrigerate the cake for at least 2 hours to allow flavors to meld.
- Before serving, top with whipped cream and garnish with orange slices if desired.
- Slice into squares to serve and add a dollop of whipped cream on top of each slice.
Notes
Fully cool the cake before adding the Jello mixture for better absorption. You can also use other soda flavors for a variation.
