  • 1 each pre-baked 9-inch pie crust Ensure the crust is fully cooled before adding the filling.
Chocolate Filling
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 cups whole milk Gradually add while stirring to avoid lumps.
Meringue Topping
  • 2 each egg whites Make sure your mixing bowl is clean and dry.
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar Gradually add while beating egg whites.

Preparation
  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter.
  2. Stir in the granulated sugar, flour, and cocoa powder until well combined.
  3. Gradually add the whole milk while continuously stirring to avoid lumps.
  4. Cook until the mixture thickens and bubbles.
  5. Once thick, remove from heat and pour into the pre-baked pie crust.
Meringue Preparation
  1. Beat egg whites until soft peaks form.
  2. Gradually add sugar until stiff peaks form.
  3. Spread the meringue over the chocolate filling, sealing the edges.
Baking
  1. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes until the meringue is lightly golden.
Serving
  1. Let cool before serving. Serve chilled or at room temperature.
