  • 2 cups crushed chocolate sandwich cookies Use any brand of chocolate sandwich cookies.
  • 5 tablespoons melted butter Make sure the butter is fully melted.
For the Filling
  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened) Ensure cream cheese is softened for easy mixing.
  • 1 cup powdered sugar Can adjust the amount for sweetness preference.
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract Feel free to adjust for more or less mint flavor.
  • to taste green food coloring Add gradually until desired shade is reached.
  • 8 oz whipped topping Thawed if frozen.
For the Topping
  • to taste extra whipped topping For decorative topping.
  • to taste crushed cookies or chocolate shavings For added texture.
  • optional maraschino cherries Add for a pop of color and flavor.

Preparation
  1. Mix crushed cookies with melted butter until combined. Press firmly into a baking dish and refrigerate for 15 minutes.
  2. Beat the cream cheese until smooth. Add powdered sugar and peppermint extract, mixing until creamy.
  3. Add green food coloring and mix until the desired shade is reached. Fold in whipped topping gently until light and fluffy.
  4. Spread the filling evenly over the chilled crust and smooth the top.
  5. Refrigerate for at least 2-3 hours until firm.
  6. Top with whipped cream, crushed cookies, and cherries if desired before serving.

Notes

Chill the crust before adding filling. Use softened cream cheese for a smooth texture. Allow enough chilling time for proper consistency. This dessert is best served chilled.
