Ingredients
  

For the base
  • 2 cups pretzel sticks Use any pretzel shape, sticks or twists recommended.
  • 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 1 cup unsalted butter Must be completely melted.
For the caramel layer
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk Can be substituted with coconut cream for a vegan option.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the topping
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips Feel free to experiment with milk or dark chocolate.
  • to taste Sea salt Sprinkle on top for finishing.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Prepare a 9x13-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix pretzel sticks and graham cracker crumbs together.
  3. Pour melted butter over the mixture and stir until everything is coated.
  4. Press the mixture evenly into the bottom of the baking dish.
Caramel Layer
  1. In another bowl, mix brown sugar, sweetened condensed milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  2. Pour this caramel mixture over the pressed pretzel base.
  3. Sprinkle chocolate chips over the caramel layer.
  4. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
Serving
  1. Once chilled, remove from the dish using the parchment paper and cut into squares.

Notes

Store the bars in an airtight container at room temperature for a few days, or refrigerate for up to a week. Consider adding nuts or crushed candies on top of the chocolate layer for extra crunch.
