  • 1/2 cup milk Low-fat milk can be used for a lighter version.
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheese Cheddar or any cheese of your choice.
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions Optional garnish.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Place the cubed potatoes in a large pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 15-20 minutes, or until tender.
  2. Drain the potatoes well, return them to the pot, and add butter, milk, salt, and pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy.
  3. Stir in the shredded cheese until melted and fully mixed.
  4. If using, sprinkle chopped green onions on top.
  5. Serve warm, enjoying with your favorite main dishes.

Notes

For a garlic flavor, you can add minced garlic while boiling the potatoes. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for about 3 days or frozen for longer storage.
