  • 6 pieces tomatillos, husked and rinsed Choose ripe, firm tomatillos for the best flavor.
  • 1 pieces ripe avocado Using a ripe avocado will help achieve a smooth texture.
  • 1–2 pieces jalapeños Adjust to heat preference; remove seeds for less spice.
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • to taste Salt
  • optional cups Fresh cilantro Mix in if desired.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a blender or food processor, combine the tomatillos, avocado, jalapeños, onion, and lime juice.
  2. Blend until smooth, adjusting the consistency if necessary.
  3. Season with salt to taste and mix in fresh cilantro if desired.
Serving
  1. Serve immediately with tortilla chips, tacos, grilled meats, or as a topping for burrito bowls and salads.

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh but can last for 2 to 3 days in the fridge. If the salsa browns due to the avocado, give it a quick stir to mix it up.
