  • 1 loaf French bread or sub rolls For the bread base
  • 12 pieces cooked meatballs Any type of meatball—beef, turkey, or vegetarian
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese For topping
  • 1 cup marinara sauce To spoon over the meatballs
  • 2 tablespoons butter Softened for spreading
  • 2 cloves garlic Minced, to mix with butter
  • parsley Optional garnish

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice the French bread or sub rolls in half lengthwise.
  3. In a small bowl, mix softened butter with minced garlic. Spread this mixture on the cut sides of the bread.
Assembly
  1. Place cooked meatballs on top of the bread.
  2. Spoon marinara sauce over the meatballs and top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
Baking
  1. Place the bread boats on a baking sheet and bake for about 15-20 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  2. Garnish with parsley if desired, and serve hot.

Notes

These bread boats can be served as a main dish or a fun appetizer. They are best enjoyed hot right out of the oven for the perfect cheesy goodness. Leftovers can be stored tightly wrapped in the refrigerator for 2-3 days.
