Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 12 slices slices of bacon Use thick-cut bacon for extra crunch.
  • 1 cup of pecans Chop into smaller pieces for better distribution.
  • 1 cup of light brown sugar Can experiment with dark brown sugar for a richer flavor.
  • 1/2 cup of unsalted butter Use unsalted for better control of saltiness.
  • 1/4 cup of maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda Stir into caramel for a bubbly effect.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Arrange the bacon slices on the baking sheet and bake until crispy, about 15-20 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool.
Cooking
  1. In a saucepan, combine the brown sugar, butter, maple syrup, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.
  2. Once it reaches a boil, let it boil for 3 minutes without stirring.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and baking soda. The mixture will bubble up.
  4. Chop the bacon and add it to the caramel mixture along with the pecans. Stir to combine.
  5. Spread the mixture onto the lined baking sheet and bake for another 10 minutes.
  6. Let it cool completely before breaking into pieces. Enjoy!

Notes

Store Maple Bacon Crack in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Avoid refrigerating to maintain its crispy texture.
