Mandarin Quark Cake Without Base

  • 400 g Quark
  • 200 g Mandarinen (mandarins) drained
  • 100 g Zucker (sugar)
  • 1 Päckchen Vanillezucker (vanilla sugar)
  • 1 Päckchen Gelatine (gelatin) prepared according to package instructions
  • 200 ml Sahne (cream) whipped until stiff
  • 1 Zitrone Zitrone (lemon) juice and zest
Optional Topping
  • Kekse oder ähnliche (cookies or similar) for decoration

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, mix the Quark, sugar, vanilla sugar, and lemon juice until well combined.
  2. Prepare the gelatin according to the package instructions and stir it into the quark mixture.
  3. Drain the mandarins and gently fold them into the quark filling.
  4. Whip the cream until stiff and carefully fold it into the mixture as well.
  5. Pour the mixture into a greased form or a form lined with baking paper.
  6. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
  7. Decorate with cookies or similar as desired and enjoy.

Notes

For a sweeter cake, adjust the sugar levels to your taste. Keep the cake tightly covered in the refrigerator for up to three days. Can also be frozen, but the texture may change upon thawing.
