Ingredients

For the Filling
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
For the Onion Rings
  • 1 small onion, sliced into rings
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko for extra crunch)

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oil in a deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the ground beef with shredded cheddar cheese.
  3. Form the beef mixture into small patties.
  4. Take the onion rings and fill them with the beef mixture.
  5. Dip the filled onion rings into flour, then coat with breadcrumbs.
Cooking
  1. Carefully place the coated onion rings in the hot oil and fry until golden brown and cooked through.
  2. Remove from oil, drain on paper towels, and enjoy!

Notes

Serve these onion rings hot with your favorite dipping sauces like ketchup, ranch, or BBQ sauce. If you have leftovers, let them cool completely and store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat them in the oven to regain their crispiness. Use panko breadcrumbs for extra crunch and consider adding cooked bacon bits to the beef mixture for a richer flavor.
