Ingredients
Method
Preparation
- Boil the quail eggs for about 5 minutes, then cool and peel them.
- In a bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, salt, pepper, and food coloring with enough water to form a batter.
Cooking
- Heat oil in a pan for deep frying.
- Dip each peeled quail egg into the batter.
- Fry the coated quail eggs until golden brown, about 3-5 minutes.
Serving
- Serve Kwek Kwek hot on a plate with small bowls of vinegar and soy sauce for dipping.
Notes
Make sure the oil is hot enough before frying for a crispy batter. Don’t overcrowd the pan, fry in batches for even cooking. Experiment with spices in the batter for extra flavor. If storing leftovers, keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator for a day.
