  • 2 cups bread cubes Use leftover or stale bread, about 100 g.
  • ½ cup cherries Approximately 80 g, pitted and chopped.
  • ¼ cup sugar About 50 g.
  • 1 cup milk About 240 ml.
  • 2 large eggs Standard large eggs.
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • to taste Powdered sugar For dusting before serving.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together milk, eggs, sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon.
  3. Gently fold in bread cubes and cherries, then pour the mixture into the prepared dish.
  4. Bake for 30–35 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Dust with powdered sugar and serve warm.

Notes

Add a splash of cream or butter for an even richer texture. Mix in additional fruits like plums, berries, or apples. Sprinkle toasted almonds or hazelnuts on top for a festive touch. Serve with vanilla sauce or ice cream for a dessert experience that feels extra special.
