Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup roughly chopped fresh turmeric Use fresh for best flavor.
  • 1 piece roughly chopped fresh ginger (2-inch piece) Use fresh for best flavor.
  • 4 cups coconut water Can be replaced with water or another juice.
  • 1 lemon juiced (about 3 tablespoons juice) Adds tanginess.
  • 2 tablespoons honey or other sweetener Adjust sweetness to taste.
  • 1/2 pinch black pepper (optional) Enhances turmeric absorption.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Slice the turmeric and ginger into thin disks.
  2. Add the turmeric, ginger, black pepper, and coconut water into a blender.
  3. Blend on high speed for about a minute until smooth.
  4. Pour the mixture into a pot and bring it to a boil.
  5. Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 20 minutes.
  6. Add the lemon juice and honey, and stir well.
  7. Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve, nut milk bag, or muslin cloth.
  8. Pour it into a glass bottle or jar and refrigerate. Enjoy it chilled or warm.

Notes

Store your Jamu Juice in an airtight glass bottle or jar in the refrigerator for about one week. For best flavor, use fresh ingredients and adjust sweetness to your preference. Dilute with more coconut water if too strong.
